With Big Mama there are no hidden charges. The average rental price on Big Mama offers significant savings over the publisher's suggested list price! Each textbook has a rental fee based on the length of time you need it.
Big Mama offers the following rental periods:Depending on the marketplace, rental prices may change from time to time. However, once an order is placed, prices are fixed.

Provincial sales tax (including HST) does not apply to textbook rentals. We charge Goods and Services Tax (“GST”) on textbook rentals. The GST applicable to your rental is shown on the order confirmation page during the checkout process. We also charge GST/HST and provincial sales tax, as applicable, on shipping charges. The sales tax applicable on your rental is shown on the order confirmation page during the checkout process.
The International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is a unique identifier which indicates a book's specific edition, binding, and packaging. Searching for textbooks using the ISBN insures that you find the precise textbook and edition you are looking for.

Every Big Mama textbook rental carries a Textbook Quality Guarantee. If you're unhappy with the quality of any textbook we rent, we'll immediately ship you another copy by the quickest means available. Our only request is that you return the original rental textbook to Big Mama when the new copy arrives.
We guarantee our textbooks will never have:
Big Mama makes every effort to include supplementary materials such as CDs, workbooks, and working online access codes with each rental. Unfortunately, Big Mama doesn't guarantee that any such accessories accompany textbook rentals.
By their nature, rentals are multiple-use books. Supplemental materials can easily become separated from textbooks. Also, some supplemental materials are designed for single use only. While we make every effort to include them, we can't guarantee their inclusion or their usability.
All books rented from Big Mama carry a 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee. If you're not satisfied in any way with your order or it turns out you don't need the textbook, just return the textbook within 30 days and we'll provide a full refund minus the cost of shipping. The start date of the 30-day refund qualifying period is from the time Big Mama ships your order as indicated by the shipping confirmation email sent to you. To qualify for a refund, your return package must be postmarked by UPS within 30 days of your shipping date.
Please use it! -- Just make sure you return it to Big Mama at the end of your rental period.
Remember that rentals are multiple use items, so please follow these guidelines to maintain the textbooks in "good" condition for the next person! (See Textbook Quality Guarantee for more detailed information.)
Damaged Products Returned
Textbooks are required to be kept in like-new condition. You are responsible for the damage to or loss of a textbook and will be charged fees if damage is sustained. Damage includes: hand-writing, drawings, pictures, excessive highlighting, water damage, stains, torn pages, and/or any condition which renders the textbook unusable.
Any textbook returned to us damaged and rendered unusable will remain the property of Big Mama and you may be charged an amount up to the Replacement Fee (the difference between the rental fee and the full list price) for the book. For examples of like-new and damaged books and the related damage fees, please refer to the descriptions below.
Minor Damage (the lesser of the Replacement Fee or 25% of the List Price*)
Light damage to the cover (markings on the inside or outside, or portions ripped off) or pages (medium to large creases, tears, stains, or liquid damage) is present.
Major Damage (Replacement Fee)
The cover is noticeably damaged or missing. Pages are stained, missing, illegible, or otherwise warped. There is heavy writing and/or highlighting throughout the book. Any other case that renders the book unusable will also result in a major damage fee.Where a textbook is part of a bundled package (common examples include textbook and study guide packages, anthologies, and multi-volume sets) damage to or loss of one portion of the bundled package will constitute Major Damage to or loss of the entire Product and the Replacement Fee will apply.

The list prices displayed on bigmama.ca come from bibliographic information provided by leading third party sources and major publishers. The list prices are the publisher's suggested retail price. If a title does not have a publisher's suggested list price, Big Mama.ca will not show a list price in its on-line catalogue.
