SELLING TEXTBOOKS TO BIG MAMA

Selling or donating textbooks

To sell or donate your textbooks to Big Mama, start by emailing us at and entering the ISBN in the subject field. We'll give you a quote and walk you through printing a prepaid UPS label and shipping your books to us. When we receive your textbooks, we'll evaluate their condition and confirm the purchase price via email. If we decide not to buy your textbook, you can always donate it.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • We provide a tracking number so you can monitor your shipment
  • You can combine the textbooks you're selling to Big Mama and your rental returns in one box
  • Your textbooks must be postmarked by UPS within 7 days from the quote date. If you have missed this date, you can create a new quote and resubmit your order.
  • You can receive payment via cheque or Big Mama credit.

Getting paid for your sold textbooks

When and how you receive your Big Mama payment will depend on the payment format you chose. If you haven't received your payment within the time frames listed below, please contact Big Mama customer service by email or phone.

Big Mama Credit

Big Mama credit will appear in your account 1-2 business days after your textbooks are processed.

Cheque

Your cheque will be mailed 2-3 business days after your books are processed. It will be sent through Canada Post first class mail and will usually arrive in 7-10 business days.

Big Mama credit

When you sell a textbook to Big Mama, you are given the option to receive payment in the form of cash or Big Mama Credit. You can redeem this Big Mama Credit against the cost of any textbook rental as part of the checkout process.

To review your Big Mama Credit balance at any time, please visit the "Big Mama Stats" area on the first page of My Account.

To redeem your Big Mama Credit, please apply any outstanding balance against a rental during the checkout process. On the Shipping & Payment page in Checkout any Big Mama Credit you have available will be indicated. You will be able to apply the Big Mama Credit against your order on that page.
